Round of golf

March 12th, 2011 No comments
The weather should be pretty good tomorrow,  so time for a good round of golf. I am also working on a concept website, it's a social golf site. the idea is that you can save your rounds of golf on a website. It calculates scores and shows what your last rounds were. It would be nice if you could also arange a round form the website with a buddy. I'll post a feature list here!

FIFA 10

October 12th, 2009 No comments
I finally received FIFA10 today. It is gorgeous. Gameplay is smooth, 360 degree movement, improved freekick and corner system. The new play like a pro mode is excellent. Two big thumbs up for FIFA10. I'll be posting some links to some of my goals pretty soon!

Update

May 13th, 2009 No comments
It's been a while since I last posted. I have been very busy. I first went on a short break, then had some issues at work. This week I started a BiSL and ASL training. The most important part of this blogpost is that: Utrecht has bucket loads of hot women! I can recommend going for a night on the town there!

Easter

April 14th, 2009 No comments
Contrary to what I expected in my last blog post, Easter weekend was pretty good! Friday evening I went to play some futsal. We played 2 vs. 2 on a small court. To make it a bit more difficult we played with an extra small ball. I had a couple of good passes, some nice clean goals. Ended the evening with a nice shower, there is almost nothing nicer than having a good sweat and then a steaming hot shower. On Saturday I went to Maastricht with a special friend. Did some clothes shopping, enjoyed the weather, had a nice lunch and ended the day with tapas and a kiss. A very enjoyable day. Easter Sunday. Woke up to do some cleaning, as you do on Easter ;). Grabbed my PS3 and went over to my parents house. My sister, brother-in-law and niece were already there. Set up the PS and played FIFA09 with my brother-in-law. Showed him how you play the game ;). We normally play choosing our favourite teams, which means games end up being pretty predictable after you play Argentina vs. Brazil or Arsenal vs. Barcelona for the umpteenth time. This time, we used the square buttons to choose random teams. That adds a nice twist to the games. As a nice pause between games we had a excellent dinner. Nothing fancy, but really tasty. Around ten thirty I went home, about half an hour later my special friend came over for an unexpected visit. I stole another kiss ;). Easter Monday I did some more cleaning, play some WOW. Then I went into town for some wine and snacks. Went for dinner in het Hooihuis with my special friend again. I can truly recommend this place, good food, nice ambiance. Ended my Easter weekend watching the Quantum of Solace. Nice movie, nothing fancy. Rather unexpectedly I spent a lot of time with my special friend. We really enjoyed each others company. I hope this is an up step to something more.

Snooze

April 10th, 2009 No comments
Easter is coming up. To be honest, not really looking forward to it. Holidays have a way of making visible the things you would like to change in your life. At least they do for me. And I'm not unhappy or anything, but in retrospect there are some things I would really like to have done differently. I guess I was a bit of dumbass back in the day, hurt some people who I should have kept close and protect instead. You would have thought I'd learned my lessons the first time, but I didn't.  because the second girl I really loved, I blew it again. It doesn't mean I condone her cheating on me, but I do see how my behaviour had a severe impact on what she did. The last six months have been good for me though, did a lot of soulsearching, figured out what I'd like to change in my life, I figured out that if I keep on following the same road I will never be happy.  I often wish I had figured this out a whole lot earlier. But sometimes you need a wake up call. I have had mine, no time so snooze anymore.

PS3 Firmware 2.7, FIFA09 trophies, Killzone 2

April 6th, 2009 1 comment
This weekend I played a couple of games of FIFA09 with Klaus, Wouter and Emiel. I first had to update my PS3 tot firmware version 2.7. For me personally it doesn't add any really interesting options, except for the auto levelere for music files. If you have a lot of PSN friends the new chat options is pretty handy. Now the really cool update I did was for FIFA09! My FIFA09 now has trophies! For those not familiar with the trophies system a quick explanation. You get a trophy if you complete a set task in a game. For instance you get one for the first goal you score with the head, or a volley. You have different level trophies, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Bronze trophies are easiest to get and platinum the hardest. I find trophies add an extra dimension to a game, you put in this little bit of extra effort knowing it will result in a rewards. I guess that primal instinct to do/like things that give you a rewards is still very active in my brain 😉 Probably driven by the same hunger that makes me like trophies, I've also taken a liking to FIFA09 Ultimate Team. It is an add-on for FIFA09. It basically adds a cardtrade system to FIFA09. You buy booster packs from coins you earn playing games. The cards give you access to better players, stadiums, coaches and gamecards. Gamecards allow you to temporarilly alter the game dynamics. Make players faster, make opposition slower, influence the ref, etc, etc. If you no longer have a need for a certain card, you can add them to your collection (like an old fashioned Panini book) or trade them on the PSN. Last week I also bought Killzone 2. It's a graphically stunning game. Unline anything Ive seen before on the PS3. The level loading is done very nice as well, not a lot of waiting. In the normal skill level the game isn't that hard (except for the fight leading up to Radec). The single player campaign isnt very long, it can be completed in a couple of hours easily. But you don't buy this game for the single player campaign, you buy this game for the online content. This to is exceptional. For the player mechanics it boroughs heavily from Call of Duty 4 (COD4). Just like in COD4 you need to progress in rank to earn new weapons. Completing certain tasks to earn ribbons. When you get enough ribbons of a certain type it opens up some new improvement, like extra granade after you spawn, extra ammo, etc, etc. I prefer the movement in COD4, it's a bit faster, but otherwise Killzone beats COD4 hands down. The environment is mutch darker, maps have a better layout. It feels intenser. If you want to play a game of FIFA09 or Killzone 2 with me, contact me on PSN. My handle is Bermpje.
